We recently welcomed Lancashire FA’s media team for a special visit to The Glen Playing Fields, where they interviewed players, coaches and club staff as part of a regional spotlight on grassroots football facilities.
The visit was part of Lancashire FA’s ongoing commitment to understanding the needs of local clubs and promoting inclusive, accessible football across the county. With cameras rolling and questions flowing, the roadshow captured the energy and passion that defines Rossendale United’s community spirit.
Players and staff shared their experiences of playing at The Glen – discussing match days and their experiences of venues and pitches across the valley, especially The Glen.,
Club staff expressed appreciation for the venue’s scenic location and the quality of the pitches.
Lancashire FA’s visit was a welcome opportunity to showcase the heart of Rossendale football and to advocate for continued investment in grassroots venues. As one coach put it, “moving from our old venue, The Glen felt like moving to Wembley for some of the players.”
Keep an eye out on the Lancashire FA website – we’ll share the link to the video when it’s released.
